2. You meet our team
We pride ourselves in delivering the best education possible to our students.
In doing so, we want to meet you to see if being a CDL is a good fit for you and you are a good fit keeping people and products safe driving a commercial vehicle. Bring your questions to this meeting at Capital Transportation Academy as you meet with our recruiting team, get a better sense of our programs and training facility.

3. We roadmap together
During our review process, together we will map out a plan.
Not only will we know you better, we have a stronger sense of your interests for being a commercial driver. During this coaching session, we want to understand your long-term career interests as well. Funding, class start dates, and determining your eligibility for enrollment at CTA is part of this roadmap.
4.You Get your CLP (Commercial Learner Permit) or “Temps”
A major requirement for admissions to Capital Transportation Academy is getting your Commercial Learner Permit (CLP).
To obtain your CLP, you will go to an Ohio BMV Driver Exam location where you will be required to take a written knowledge exam. You must pass the exam sections for (1) General Knowledge, (2) Air Brakes, and (3) Combination Vehicles. By receiving your CLP, you can now operate a commercial motor vehicle on an Ohio highway during your training while being accompanied by your Licensed CDL Instructor.

5. Success
After scheduling your class start date, you will be welcomed into our thriving learning environment at Capital Transportation Academy.
Our team is friendly, our classes are small, and you receive a personalized approach to your training. During your education, you will meet with recruiters who are seeking drivers for their companies. After a month, you should be able to graduate (CTA has a 90% graduation rate!) with a job and permanently changing your family’s life for the better with a career in the transportation industry.
